Reasons, why you need to think of changing your job-We do a job for realising our dreams and empowering ourselves. The work environment of every organisation is different. Sometimes certain factors compel us to change our jobs while sometimes it’s necessary to quit the job. Now if you are wholly committed to your work and have given best to the tasks in hand, still you find yourself trapped in unfavourable situations, then you need to go through the article below to prevent such situations in your career.
1. INADEQUATE BUREAUCRACY
If the organisation you work in lacks stability, rationality, clear lines of authority and responsibility… then you need to get a warning sign. There should be a consensus among the different departments. This would lead to consistency. If permissions will be required for petty things and unnecessary controls will be imposed on the employees, it would lead to absenteeism and hinder their career development.
2. CERTAIN THINGS CANNOT BE DISCUSSED
Discussing the salary structure, the bonus, perks or promotions is perfectly alright. No need to feel guilty as it is your right to know the basic information. Knowing about your financial interests will help you build a good career. If you are aware of the financials and opportunities that the company has to offer, it will lead to good performance and employee growth.
3. INCIDENTAL EXPENSES
A job is a place where you earn money and not spend it. These secondary expenditures associated with the company are not to be borne by the employees. These expenses could be related to travel or meetings or tips etc. It’s essential that the company compensates you for the expenses met by you on the company’s behalf. If costs, even very minor once are being met by you for the company and you are not compensated for it, then it is not a very good company to work in.
4. TAKING THE BLAME
It’s crucial that you are informed of all tasks on time and with accurate information. If your boss rebukes for not completing a presentation that you were not aware of and never have you ever heard about it, then you need to become conscious. You are not responsible for vague tasks that you were not asked to do. So it’s better to excuse yourself from the presence of such callow minded individuals.
5. WORKING WITH GHOSTS
You need to take steps to avoid the unprofessional behavior shown by your colleagues at work. Every employee has certain rights and if you feel your needs are being ignored, its time to take action. Talk to your boss or your HR manager/ department. Your concerns deserve to get due attention.
6.PROMISES, PROMISES…
A good boss does not break his promises to provide a safe working environment. Listen to employee grievances, keep you informed, etc. For him, promises are obligations that he has to fulfill. If your promises are not kept, you should understand that all promises were fake and it was just a gamble to keep you working. You need to be aware to ensure that the boss does not make easy promises but when she does she follow through.
7. DOING FRIENDLY FAVOURS
Having a friendly or cordial relationship at work is excellent unless and until it hinders the working environment or such relations become the basis of your exploitation. If your boss is a nice and friendly person saying no to the extra work may seem difficult to you but you need to assert that if you do tasks that are not technically allocated to you, you need to get paid for it.
8. IT DOES WORK LIKE THAT HERE
If you are asked to come early or overtime, you need to give an adequate explanation for it. Unnecessary controls cannot be imposed by the boss on you. A control freak is very difficult to work with as it squeezes ambition and reduces productivity.

9. EMOTIONAL BLACKMAIL
Your boss or coworkers are not supposed to build emotional pressure on you that may force you to cancel your plans, goals or compromise your ethics. You need to take a stand for your decisions. Be strong-willed. Employees who are ready to give up their principles are less successful than those who are not. It’s better to leave the organization where you cannot be yourself.
10. WE HAVE A DIFFICULT SITUATION NOW
Very often the employers will intimate you that the company is in a difficult situation and your temporary compromise will become permanent. There must be proper guidelines beforehand as to how much time the company will be in a difficult period, how will employees be compensated for overtime, what the problem exactly is the company facing, etc. To be on the safer side, the terms should be systematically discussed before agreeing to work overtime.
11. WE ARE DOING YOU A FAVOUR
All employees have basic rights in the workplace. Rights include fair compensation, privacy, no discrimination, etc. It’s a violation of the law if such rights are taken away. You should start worrying if the HR department presents sick leave or vacation as a gift.
12. CHANGING PRIORITIES ALL THE TIME
If work plans are not followed daily, there is no clarity of duties, no uniformity, every next minute you are asked to drop the present work and do something else; then the company may not be best for you. Your concentration will break, and stress will build up. You should firmly talk to your boss if your tasks are continuously changed.
13. SEXISM
It includes prejudice, stereotyping and sexual harassment. Comments such as women are not as smart as men can demotivate women. Such biases lead to stress so there must be fair treatment in the workplace. One’s self-esteem should never below.
