When not to drink water? Wow, does drinking too much water pose a threat? Wherever you go, staying hydrated and drinking specified liters of water is emphasized. Isn’t it?
From docs to our grandmas, all believe that consuming water can fix a lot of conditions our body has to face. A lot of people would tell you why drinking water is essential, but not many people tell you when you should not let H20 enter your system.
Let us walk you through 9 conditions wherein you should bid farewell to water.
1. Before hitting bed
Consuming water before you sleep is wrong due to the following reasons-
- You will have interrupted sleep as the increased content of the liquid in the body makes you want to urinate, disrupting the sleep cycle.
- As the kidney functioning is slower during night-time, your feet and face tend to swell. This magnifies when you have water before bed.
2. During a work-out
Research states that consuming water more than specified levels during a workout hurts the body. The body temperature goes up while working out. Having water can get the temperature lower, but it could lead to depletion of electrolytes in the body. Now this, in turn, causes dizziness, nausea, etc. Excess intake of water causes exertion of the heart, especially for people having cardiovascular problems. Hence, it is better to consume water after the workout regime.
3. Colorless Urine
You are over-hydrated if your pee is colorless. This is indicative of the fact that you are consuming plenty of water daily even when you do not feel thirsty. This will end up reducing sodium levels in the body which can be fatal. The consequences can lead to heart attacks also.
